Education and Research
The system of education and research in the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering was started with the foundation of the Interdisciplinary Department Group on the principle of developing new interdisciplinary fields since its establishment in April 1975. April 1997 saw the establishment of the Creative Department Group which advocates the principle of creating completely new academic fields.
In 2010, the "Innovative Platform for Education and Research" has been established through development of the principle of the Creative Department Group. The platform consists of the education and research core groups and the doctoral program in innovative platform for education and research.
In order to meet the demands of society for an open graduate school, the "Doctoral Program for Working People" has been prepared to facilitate the studies of working people. In addition, the school actively accepts students into the "Master's and Doctoral Programs in the International Graduate Program," which is designed for foreign students for the purpose of developing international education and research.
